It’s official! RIAA Named Worst Company in America!

Yep, that’s right….beating out competition such as Exxon, Halliburton and Walmart, the RIAA has been named Worst Company in America for 2007 by Consumerist magazine. This means that the folks that participated in this poll believe as a whole that:

a) the RIAA is a company (which it’s not, it’s an association of companies), and that

b) gouging consumers for gas, manipulating legislation to get contracts and destroying the economy by exploiting overseas labor are not nearly as bad as hauling your customers into court for sharing music.

The voice of the people has been heard!!

I wouldn’t buy a CD now if they paid me to take it. Those greedy bastards deserve to be named the WORST!!

Joost claims to be “new way of watching TV on the internet, which uses new and established technologies to provide the best of both the internet and TV worlds.” Since we here at zomgpwn3d haven’t yet received an invitation to the Beta test, we can’t say for sure either way. How many people have actually seen this in action and seen what kind of content it offers?

If memory serves, Enron actually claimed that they could do something like this back in 2000 with “highly specialized software” that would optimize networks for streaming content (which turned out to be vaporware). They even roped poor old Blockbuster into the deal.

Australian news source The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Britney Spears has “flipped her lid in rehab, trying to hang herself with a bedsheet after screaming “I am the anti-christ” to frightened staff. She made the demonic cry after scrawling the devil’s number “666″ across her head.” ZOMG!! Do we believe this? Several people have already commented on the fact that it’s a little fishy an Australian news source has such information when the Promises staff in California have been paid big money to keep that sort of thing quiet.

Not to be confused with the other Antichrist – the leader of dangerous cult/”religious” sect “Growing in Grace” – Jose Luis deJesus Miranda. Although Miranda used to claim he was Jesus, he’s now done a 180 on that and is claiming to be the Antichrist, inspiring followers to get ‘666′ tattoos to prove their “commitment to the faith’.

Hmmmm….maybe someone should get these two together…..will the REAL Antichrist PLEASE stand up??

Seriously, though…..if any of this crap is true, who’s fault is it that Spears has flipped her lid?? Some of the more socially conscious among us are blaming the media.
